Zocor Uses

Zocor is used primarily to treat high cholesterol and high triglycerides, as well as prevent heart or blood vessel disease. The drug helps lower total cholesterol, "bad cholesterol," and triglycerides -- and increase "good cholesterol" -- in people who cannot lower cholesterol through lifestyle modifications alone. Zocor is also used to decrease the chances of developing heart disease in people with existing coronary heart disease, diabetes, or peripheral vascular disease (among other conditions). Currently, there are no known off-label Zocor uses.
