Vytorin Dosage

General Information on Your Vytorin Dose

Some considerations for people taking Vytorin include:
 
  • This medication should be taken in the evening.
     
  • Your dose of Vytorin may be taken with or without food.
     
  • To maintain an even level of the drug in your body, make sure to take Vytorin at the same time each day.
     
  • For this medication to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Vytorin will not work if you stop taking it.
     
  • Remember that lowering cholesterol begins with lifestyle changes (weight loss, low-cholesterol diet, exercise). If lifestyle changes alone do not lower cholesterol to a desirable level, medication such as Vytorin may be necessary. However, even for people who are taking cholesterol medication, lifestyle changes are still important for maintaining a good cholesterol level.
     
  • If you are unsure about anything related to dosing with Vytorin, talk to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not stop taking the drug without first discussing it with your healthcare provider.
