Trilipix Drug Interactions

More Information on Interactions With Trilipix

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Trilipix is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Bile Acid Sequestrants
Bile acid sequestrants (also known as bile acid resins) can bind to Trilipix in the digestive tract, preventing it from being absorbed. In order to avoid this drug interaction, be sure to take Trilipix at least one hour before or four to six hours after taking a bile acid sequestrant.

Cyclosporine
Taking cyclosporine and Trilipix together may increase the risk for kidney problems, and your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your progress more closely. This combination of medications should be used only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.

Warfarin
Trilipix can potentially interact with warfarin, possibly increasing the risk of bleeding. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more often and adjust your warfarin dosage as necessary if you are taking these medications together.

Final Thoughts

It is possible that not all Trilipix drug interactions were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any specific interactions that may apply to you.
