Trilipix Drug Interactions

Bile Acid Sequestrants
Bile acid sequestrants (also known as bile acid resins) can bind to Trilipix in the digestive tract, preventing it from being absorbed. In order to avoid this drug interaction, be sure to take Trilipix at least one hour before or four to six hours after taking a bile acid sequestrant.
Taking Trilipix with colchicine may increase the risk of serious problems, including serious breakdown of muscle (rhabdomyolysis). In many cases, though, the benefits of taking Trilipix with colchicine will outweigh the possible risks. Discuss the risks and benefits for your particular situation with your healthcare provider.
Taking cyclosporine and Trilipix together may increase the risk for kidney problems, and your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your progress more closely. This combination of medications should be used only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Trilipix can potentially interact with warfarin, possibly increasing the risk of bleeding. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more often and adjust your warfarin dosage as necessary if you are taking these medications together.
