Triglcerides

Were you looking for information about
Triglycerides? Triglcerides is a common misspelling of triglycerides.

Triglycerides are the most concentrated form of energy found within the body. In fact, they produce more than twice the amount of energy per gram than other forms of energy (including protein and carbohydrates). When a person eats, triglycerides are absorbed from the intestines into the bloodstream. However, because triglycerides contain fat, they separate from the blood. Triglycerides are also important because they break down to form other fats used to build cells within the body.

(Click Triglycerides for more detail on how the body uses triglycerides to produce energy and how they serve as building blocks for cells. You can also click any of the links in the box to the right for specific information.)
