Tricor Dosage: An Introduction
The dose of
Tricor® (
fenofibrate) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
- Your age
- The medical condition being treated
- Other medical conditions you may have
- Other medications you may be currently taking.
As with any drug, do not adjust your Tricor dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
Tricor Dosage for High Triglycerides
The recommended starting dose for people with
high triglycerides (fat-like substances) with normal
LDL cholesterol levels is Tricor 48 mg to Tricor 145 mg once a day. Your healthcare provider will recommend that you return after four to eight weeks to have your
triglyceride levels rechecked. If your triglycerides are still not at the desirable level, your healthcare provider may choose to increase your dose or change your medication. The maximum daily dosage of Tricor is 145 mg.
