High Triglycerides
The recommended starting dose for treating
high triglycerides in people with normal
LDL cholesterol levels is Tricor 48 mg to Tricor 145 mg once a day. Your healthcare provider will recommend that you return after four to eight weeks to have your triglyceride levels re-checked. If your triglycerides are still not at the desirable level, your healthcare provider may choose to increase your dose or change your medication.
High Cholesterol
Although the typical recommended starting Tricor dosage for treating
high cholesterol is 145 mg once daily, your healthcare provider may recommend a lower dosage (Tricor 48 mg once daily) if you experience side effects or if your
cholesterol levels fall significantly below the targeted goal. Also, if you are over the age of 65 or have severe kidney disease, your healthcare provider may decide to start you on Tricor 48 mg once a day.
