Generic Pravachol

In April 2006, a generic Pravachol was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This generic version is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and is called Pravastatin tablets. It is available in three different strengths: Pravastatin tablets 10 mg, 20 mg, and 40 mg.

Who Manufactures Generic Pravachol?

Generic Pravachol is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals.
 Normally in the United States, one company is given 180 days of exclusivity to manufacture a generic version. After 180 days, it would be expected that a number of other manufacturers of generic medications would also begin making a generic Pravachol.
