Policosinol

Were you looking for information about
Policosanol? Policosinol is a common misspelling of policosanol.

Policosanol is an herbal supplement that is claimed to help lower cholesterol. It is a "natural" product that consists of fatty alcohol derived from plant waxes. Even though this is a natural product, however, it does not mean that it is suitable for everyone. Potential side effects include insomnia, migraines, and an upset stomach.

Some studies in Cuba have shown that the medication may be effective at lowering cholesterol and relieving symptoms of intermittent claudication. However, studies in the United States have not replicated these results.
