Policosanal

Were you looking for information about
Policosanol? Policosanal is a common misspelling of policosanol.

Policosanol is an herbal supplement that is believed to have cholesterol-lowering effects. It is made up of fatty alcohol derived from plant waxes and appears to work by reducing cholesterol production in the liver and increasing cholesterol breakdown in the body. At this time, there is not enough evidence to show that policosanol is indeed effective for treating high cholesterol. Before using this supplement, talk to your healthcare provider if you have a bleeding disorder, have any allergies, or are pregnant.
