Studies from Cuba tend to suggest that policosanol works to treat high cholesterol and intermittent claudication, while studies that have been done outside of Cuba tend to suggest that it does not work. At this point, there is not enough reliable evidence to know for sure if policosanol is effective for any use. If you are interested in using the herbal supplement, it is a good idea to discuss this with your healthcare provider.
