Niaspan 1000 mg Tablets

Niaspan® (niacin extended-release) is a medication primarily used for the treatment of high cholesterol and high triglycerides. It is available by prescription only and comes in three different strengths, including:
 
  • Niaspan 500 mg tablets
  • Niaspan 750 mg tablets
  • Niaspan 1000 mg tablets.
     
The recommended starting dosage is one Niaspan 500 mg tablet every night at bedtime. After you have been taking this dose for four weeks, your healthcare provider may increase your dosage to one Niaspan 1000 mg tablet.
 
The daily dose for Niaspan should not be increased by more than 500 mg every four weeks. The normal maintenance dose is 1000 to 2000 mg every night at bedtime. It is not recommended to take more than two Niaspan 1000 mg tablets each day.
