General Lipitor Dosage Information

Some considerations for people taking Lipitor include the following:
 
  • You can take Lipitor at any time during the day; however, be sure to take it at the same time each day to maintain an even level of Lipitor in your system.
     
  • You can take your Lipitor dosage with or without food.
     
  • Do not break, chew, or crush the Lipitor tablets.
     
  • For Lipitor to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Lipitor will not work if you stop taking it.
     

Lipitor Dosage: Final Thoughts

Remember that lowering cholesterol begins with lifestyle changes (such as weight loss, diet, and exercise). If lifestyle changes do not lower cholesterol to a desirable level, cholesterol medication, such as Lipitor, may be necessary. Even if you are taking cholesterol medication, lifestyle changes are still important for maintaining a healthy cholesterol level.
