Lipitor and Muscle Pain: Drug Interactions

Serious muscle problems are more common when people first start taking Lipitor, or when they begin taking a stronger Lipitor dosage, but these muscle problems can happen at any time. There are also certain medicines that, when taken with Lipitor, can increase the risk for serious muscle problems. These medicines include:
 

 

Lipitor and Muscle Pain: Final Thoughts

Talk with your healthcare provider about Lipitor and muscle pain. He or she may be able to give you other suggestions for dealing with muscle pain. If the muscle pain continues, your healthcare provider may recommend adjusting the Lipitor dosage or switching to another cholesterol medication.
