Lipitor 20 mg

Lipitor® (atorvastatin calcium) is a prescription medication used to treat certain conditions related to heart disease, including high cholesterol and high triglycerides. The tablets come in four different strengths: 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg, and 80 mg.

Most people with high cholesterol start with Lipitor 10 mg or Lipitor 20 mg once a day to begin with. If your cholesterol goal is not reached after several weeks, your healthcare provider may increase your dosage as needed. The average daily dose for most adults is Lipitor 20 mg to Lipitor 40 mg.

The recommended starting dose for children is 10 mg daily. If needed, your child's healthcare provider may increase your child's dosage up to a maximum of 20 mg once per day.
