Lipitor 10 mg

Lipitor® (atorvastatin calcium) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of high cholesterol and high triglycerides. It is also approved to prevent heart or blood vessel disease.
There are several different strengths of Lipitor tablets available, including:
  • Lipitor 10 mg
  • Lipitor 20 mg
  • Lipitor 40 mg
  • Lipitor 80 mg.
The usual recommended starting dosage for most people with high cholesterol is Lipitor 10 mg to Lipitor 20 mg once daily. Your healthcare provider may recommend that you have your cholesterol levels checked after several weeks and may increase your Lipitor dosage if you have not reached your cholesterol goal at this time.
The recommended starting dosage for children ages 10 to 17 with high cholesterol is Lipitor 10 mg once daily. Your child's healthcare provider may adjust the dose if your child does not reach his or her cholesterol goals or develops any side effects.
