Headaches, muscle pain, and diarrhea are some of the most common side effects of Lipitor® (atorvastatincalcium). Side effects of this medication tend to be minor and are typically easy to treat. However, notify your healthcare provider immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness (especially if accompanied by a fever or feeling of illness). Some of the rare Lipitor side effects include depression, asthma, and hair loss. However, it can be difficult to determine whether these side effects are actually caused by Lipitor or other factors.
