Lescol Uses

A number of conditions can be treated with Lescol. Uses for the medication include the treatment of high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and other conditions. High Cholesterol or Triglycerides Treatment
Lescol is used for treating high cholesterol in people who cannot lower cholesterol through lifestyle changes. Lescol can lower total cholesterol and LDL ("bad cholesterol"), as well as increase HDL ("good cholesterol"). Lescol has also been shown to lower triglyceride levels in the blood.

Prevention of Heart Disease
Lescol is also used in people with existing coronary heart disease to decrease the chances of needing a heart procedure, such as angioplasty or open heart surgery (known medically as coronary artery bypass surgery, or CABG).

It has also been shown to decrease the rate at which cholesterol buildup on the arteries (atherosclerosis) develops in people with existing heart disease.
