Lescol XL: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

Prior to taking Lescol XL, you should tell your healthcare provider if you have:
 
Let your healthcare provider know if you:
 
  • Are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant (see Lescol and Pregnancy)
  • Are breastfeeding
  • Will be undergoing a procedure or surgery
  • Drink alcohol frequently.
     
Also, tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you are currently taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

Who Should Not Take Lescol XL?

You should not take Lescol XL if:
 
  • You are allergic to Lescol, fluvastatin sodium, or any of the inactive components used in making Lescol. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • You have active liver disease or unexplained high liver enzymes.
     
  • You are pregnant or nursing.
