Juvisync Drug Interactions

Juvisync Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative reactions that can occur when Juvisync is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Amiodarone
Combining amiodarone with Juvisync may increase the risk for serious muscle problems, such as myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. If you are taking these medicines together, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your progress closely and make necessary dosing adjustments. Your dosage of Juvisync should not exceed 100/20 mg once daily.

Amlodipine
Combining amlodipine with Juvisync may increase the risk for serious muscle problems, such as myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. If you are taking these medicines together, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your progress closely and make necessary dosing adjustments. Your dosage of Juvisync should not exceed 100/20 mg once daily.

Boceprevir
Taking both boceprevir and Juvisync together may increase the risk for developing serious muscle problems, such as myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. This combination is not recommended.

Certain Antibiotics
Taking Juvisync with erythromycin, clarithromycin, or telithromycin is not recommended. This can cause significant reactions, including an increased risk for serious muscle problems like myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. If you are using simvastatin and need to take one of these medications, you will need to stop taking Juvisync, at least temporarily.

Certain Antifungals
Some antifungal medications may increase the level of Juvisync in your blood, increasing the risk for Juvisync side effects, including dangerous problems such as myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. These medications should not be taken together with Juvisync; instead, alternative antifungals should be recommended. If no suitable alternatives are available, you should stop taking Juvisync while taking the antifungal medication.
