Your healthcare provider may recommend a diet to lower triglycerides if you are diagnosed with high triglycerides. This diet should include no more than 7 to 10 percent of total calories from saturated fat, adding triglyceride-lowering foods or supplements, and limiting the amount of cholesterol in your diet. As part of this diet to lower triglycerides, it is also recommended to limit or eliminate the use of alcohol.
