If you are diagnosed with high triglycerides, you may want to start a diet to lower your triglyceride levels. This diet, which should be combined with exercise and weight loss, is focused on limiting the amount of cholesterol in your diet, limiting the total amount of fat in your diet to under 30 percent, and adding triglyceride-lowering foods or supplements (such as fish and fish oil). As part of this diet to lower triglycerides, you should also limit or eliminate your alcohol consumption.
