Side Effects of Fenofibrate

Serious Fenofibrate Side Effects

Some side effects of fenofibrate should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if you also have a fever or feel ill, since these may be signs of a serious problem
  • Signs of gallbladder or pancreas problems, such as:
     
    • Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
    • Nausea
    • Vomiting
 
  • Significant, unexplained changes in the amount of urine you produce (which may be a sign of kidney problems)
  • Signs of liver damage, such as:
     
    • Yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
    • Upper-right abdominal pain (stomach pain)
    • Dark urine
    • High liver enzymes (found using a blood test)
 
  • Easy bruising or bleeding (or bleeding that is slow to stop)
  • Frequent infections
  • Signs of a blood clot in the legs (such as pain or swelling)
  • Signs of a blood clot in the lungs (such as chest pain, coughing blood, or shortness of breath)
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
     
    • An unexplained rash
    • Itching
    • Hives
    • Wheezing or difficulty breathing
    • Swelling of the mouth, tongue, or throat.
