Fenofibrate is a drug used for lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the body. Some of the brand names for this medicine include Triglide™, Antara™, and Lofibra®. In research studies, people taking the drug were able to lower their triglyceride levels by up to 55 percent. Fenofibrate is available in capsule or tablet form, and is taken once a day.
