Crestor 40 mg
Crestor® (rosuvastatin calcium) 40 mg tablets are the strongest strength available for this form of the medication. Crestor comes in the form of tablets and is generally taken once a day to treat high cholesterol.
Although the average daily dose of Crestor is 20 mg 40 mg once daily, the recommended starting dose for treating high cholesterol for most people is typically Crestor 10 mg once daily. However, if after several weeks you have not reached your cholesterol goal, your healthcare provider may choose to increase your dose of Crestor. The dose can also be decreased if side effects occur. Your healthcare provider may also recommend a lower Crestor dosage if you meet certain criteria (such as if you are 65 years old or older, or take certain other medications).
Although most people tolerate Crestor well, side effects are possible. Some of the most common side effects of this medication include muscle pain or tenderness, constipation, and nausea.
