What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?
If you forget to take a dose of Colestid, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your normal dosing schedule. Never take a double dose.
Available Forms and Strengths
Colestid comes in two forms -- tablets and granules.
The tablets are available in one strength, with each tablet containing 1 gram of medication. The granules come in either a packet or can. Each packet contains 5 grams of
colestipol. One scoopful of granules from the can also contains 5 grams of colestipol.
A generic version of Colestid is currently available.
