Whole grains and legumes, fruits, and vegetables are low cholesterol foods that should be part of any low cholesterol diet. Any food that comes from an animal will have at least some cholesterol, but fish and poultry contain less cholesterol than other animal products. Tofu and dry beans are great meat substitutes, as they are low cholesterol foods. Besides looking for foods low in cholesterol, you should also seek products that are low in saturated fat and trans fat.
