Livalo Medication Information

Livalo® (pitavastatin) is available only by prescription and is used to treat high cholesterol and high triglycerides. It works by blocking a certain enzyme that controls the rate of cholesterol production in the body.
 
This medicine is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medications you are taking before prescribing Livalo. You may not be able to take this drug if you have problems with your liver, kidneys, or thyroid.
