cholesterol in the blood can eventually lead to serious health problems, many healthcare providers recommend a low cholesterol diet. This includes plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes, and few animal-based products and certain fats, such as saturated fats and trans fats.
People on a low cholesterol diet are advised to eat at least 3 to 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day and 6 to 11 servings of whole grains and legumes daily.
