In order to keep your LDLcholesterol and your risk for heart disease low, you should start following a heart-healthy diet, which is a diet low in saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol, and includes just enough calories to maintain a healthy weight. If a heart-healthy diet does not lower cholesterol enough, your healthcare provider may recommend increasing your soluble fiber intake and/or adding other foods that lower cholesterol to your diet.
