Caduet Drug Information
Caduet® (amlodipine and atorvastatin) is commonly used for conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. For example, a healthcare provider may prescribe this drug to:
- Treat high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia)
- Treat high triglycerides
- Prevent heart or blood vessel disease (known as cardiovascular disease).
Caduet comes in the form of a tablet and is usually taken once a day. This combination product contains amlodipine and atorvastatin, drugs that make it easier for the heart to pump blood by relaxing the blood vessels and controlling the rate of cholesterol production. Fatigue, dizziness, and flushing are some of the most common side effects.
Prior to beginning treatment with Caduet, inform your healthcare provider about all other medical conditions you have and any other drugs you are taking. This medicine is not right for everyone, and your healthcare provider will need this information to make sure that this is the right medication for you.
