There are also combination medicines available, such as Simcor®, Vytorin® and Advicor®.
 
For lowering cholesterol and/or triglycerides, the type of medicine that your doctor recommends will be based on many things, like your cholesterol levels (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides), heart disease risk factors, and whether other medical conditions are present.
 
Each of these types of cholesterol medicines works a little differently, so depending on your situation, these Antara alternatives may or may not make sense for you.
